“Born” Yesterday blog 156
Look, there HAD to be another season of “DxD”, as so much was left hanging out there (and I don’t mean all the naked boobies, and there are a lot of those!) But this season, called “High School DxD BorN” (and why it is done that way, I do not know. I can’t find rhyme nor reason for it) felt like treading water.

It is summer break at the school, but as we know, there is no rest for the wicked. The Occult Research Club members are going on a trip to the underworld. Man, I said DISNEY World (You have got to enunciate!) Aside from gaining valuable training experience and expertise, it gives the members a real chance to bond, as we have added a few more to the chessboard. However, it’s not going to be all fire and brimstone, as Loki and the Chaos Brigade show up and do what their name intends. The series contends itself with trying to keep the team together while battling seemingly overwhelming odds against implacable foes, bent on, at least, personal destruction. And naked boobies.

Hoot Mon! I mean, when episodes open up with Issei in bed with two or three naked babes, it’s Howard Jones time! (“Things can only get better.”) Now, if you feel that you have to see this uncensored, and I will admit that those Flying D’s which cover up things are grandly annoying, there are sites to do this, but it merely distracts from the overall story, which is Issei’s growth as the Red Dragon Emperor and his ability (or inability) to fully understand the powers that have been given to him. The ending arc, where we take a side trip to the Dimensional Gap (not the Cumberland Gap) gets a bit confusing. I mean, it seems like every other week, another lady gets kidnapped and subjected to humiliating torture, which includes divesture of clothing and more Flying Ds.

It just gets so tiring. Whatever original story what out there in the first season has now become a caliber of “Rosario + Vampire”, where we count panty shots and unfettered bosoms and ninnies straining through the fabrics and some rather fetching S&M based outfits and whatever caliber of perversion your overworked fantasy brain can cobble together. Is there even a story anymore? Well, we still have to defeat Loki, but, aside from that, since we have not ended the series, Go-Around #4 is lurking out there. I would not expect anything prior to March of 2016, as there is still another OVA out there, due to come out in December. But as Captain Jack Sparrow once said, “To what aim or purpose?”
On a scale of 1 to 10:

Artwork 6 (Trying way too hard)
Plot 7 (Struggling with ideas)
Pacing 6 (Spikes for no real reason)
Effectiveness 6 (Too much ‘woe is me’)
Conclusion 6 (It reaches a ‘coupler’, but hasn’t ended)
Fan Service 8 (A similar show would be “Sekerei”)

Overall 7 (Starting to wear thin)

And remember, it’s first run until you’ve seen it. I will fight for the President.

If you are looking for something like that, I am going to suggest you check out “Manyuu Hikenchou”. True, she is not a demon, but if you want super large breasts and lots of women with super large breasts, then this is for you. I am in the middle of watching this one and will give a review upon its conclusion, but forget adhesive bandages. Those puppies fly free and unfettered.
