In all the time I have watched anime, I have never encountered what I call a fetish show. I mean, there are shows that have strong ecchi factors in them and we are given some pretty strong examples of the weaponry that some of the women pack, but I haven’t seen a show that really hyper-focuses on one aspect of women and their clothing…until I ran into “Miru Tights” (“Miru Taitsu”, “Watch Tights”).

We are enamored with ladies in their tights (or pantyhose. To me, tights are a bit different, but it may just all combine into the same fetish). I should point out, high school ladies. We enjoy catching a glimpse of her black-clad thighs or the extra-fabric panel that surrounds her pelvic region or how her calves distend the cloth that strains to contain it all. Is it hot in here or is it just me? 30 denier? 60 denier? 110 denier? (That is for the three people who understand the reference.)

We follow the lives of three girls and their tights. Some of the stories are plain silly, like when they all get wet at once. Or intentional, potentially like this group shot. Some have also posited that this caters to foot fetishists as well, but that is more of a fringe benefit and not part and parcel, but, since I’m not into that, I cannot be sure of that.

Oh, now the ladies do have names (Ren Aikawa, Yua Nakabeni and Homi Moegi), but we are more interested in what they do when the books go into the bag and they trot themselves home. Time to put stuff on my web page.

I found myself watching this, as it was beyond anything that I had seen before in anime, even for a short-pull show. There are 13 episodes, the last being an OVA. An OVA? Really? Isn’t is already a kind of OVA?
They did get ‘cute’ with the episode titles, as everyone one of them have the word ‘tights’ in them, but since that is the THEME of the show, is it all that necessary?

How does one take this all in? Initially, if you decide to go this way, you binge. The shows are not that long and there may be just enough going on that you don’t feel it is the same thing every time, but if this is your kink, aside from it BEING the same thing every time, you don’t really care. You want to enjoy all that is being offered to you, so you have to decide the depth of the fan service.

So, it is a very niche show and if you decide that it’s just not on your menu, then by all means, head off. I took this as an opportunity to see how far they thought they could get away with things. (I’m talking Episode 7).
